ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m Brandi — proud mom of 5 beautiful children and “bonus mom” to many more. In 2021, my kids and I stepped into the world of clogging together, and little did I know we were about to find so much more than just a dance.
We found community. We found joy. We found a forever family.
Clogging has filled a space in my heart I didn’t even know was missing. From the music and the rhythm to the friendships and unforgettable memories, it’s become a way of life for my family. But the very best part? I get to share every step, every laugh, and every moment with all five of my amazing kids. Watching them fall in love with this dance alongside me has been the greatest gift.
I’m also beyond blessed to share this journey with Kevin — who started as a friend but has truly become family.
One of the most special parts of this journey has been seeing how the clogging community has embraced my children. They have been surrounded by so many wonderful, encouraging people who lift them up, believe in them, and cheer them on. And among them is one very special person they’ve come to love beyond measure — the one they proudly call Papaw.
Clogging has given us more than steps and music — it’s given us belonging, tradition, love, and family that stretches far beyond the dance floor. ❤️

My Dance Teams
We are a not-for-profit dance organization based in rural Appalachia. Our group offers clogging classes, performance & competition opportunities, cultural education, and community engagement at no cost to families. We serve children and families in our area with a strong focus on accessibility and heritage.
The Guyan River Cloggers was founded to ensure every child—regardless of financial background—has access to the arts. We are dedicated to preserving the cherished Appalachian tradition of clogging while making it accessible, inclusive, and relevant for today’s youth.
Our programs include:
•Free clogging classes for all skill levels
•Performances at local and regional events
•Participation in dance competitions
•Outreach in schools and community centers
•Distribution of clogging shoes, costumes, and travel support
While rooted in traditional Appalachian clogging, we’re reimagining the art form by blending it with modern music and choreography. This innovative approach keeps the dance fresh, engaging, and appealing to younger generations—ensuring it thrives for years to come.
Unlike many dance studios that charge high fees or focus solely on competition, the Guyan River Cloggers prioritize cultural preservation and community access. We come from a small, economically challenged area, yet our passion, creativity, and commitment run deep. Our mission goes beyond dance—we’re building pride, resilience, and opportunity through the power of culture and movement.
Lincoln County is a place of resilience. But we are also a place of limited opportunities, especially when it comes to youth enrichment and the arts. That’s exactly why the Guyan River Cloggers exist, to fill a gap, to give these kids something to be part of, and to help them hold tight to their culture while reaching for bigger dreams.
This program is more than dance steps. It’s life lessons, discipline, teamwork, and joy. It gives our youth a reason to stay engaged, a way to stay out of trouble, and a chance to be seen, valued, and celebrated.
